2024 Wrap-Up

Squeezing in my last (and only second) entry of the year—with less than five hours left of 2024, at that. Knowing myself, this patchwork of words won’t make the cut when I, at some undetermined but definite point in the future, hack away at this post to soothe my inner writing demon. C’est la vie. In the meantime, here’s my own little wrap-up, replay, year in review, what-have-you:

Mid-Year Update

Ahh, well, close enough anyway. Thanks to Fox/Netflix’s Lucifer taking hold of my lizard brain at the end of January, this year has been abysmal for my (published novels) reading progress: 6 novels read. 4 at the very start of the year, and 2 just this past month.

Fanfics, on the other hand? Devoured like I haven’t devoured them in years—since my Wangxian days, to be specific. Still, when I think about how my love for the “powerful (and misunderstood) immortal and the mortal who loves them” trope, I can’t say I’m terribly surprised.

All those moments throughout the days, weeks, months that don’t get marked on calendars with hand-drawn stars or little stickers.

Those are the moments that make a life.

Not grand gestures, but mundane details that, over time, accumulate until you have a home, instead of a house.
